I love to ‘fix’ a lyric after its recorded.
Sometimes all a chorus needs is a rearrangement. It doesn’t need new words. It doesn’t need more complication.
The chorus to my new song ‘Breaking our Hearts In’ was a bit too wordy. I chopped up the vocal as is, copy pasted some sections to repeat, and hey presto.
There’s a lot to be said for ‘writing’ a song after it’s recorded. You don’t have a blank canvas. You have to work with what you’ve got. It’s a great way to focus you in to the essence of the song and not look externally for the answer.
Sometimes the answer
Comes from within
Not from without.
