Shutting out Distractions

To me, the idea of locking myself in a dark room, with no distraction, and no interference, is appealing.

A great songwriter I know has a den. She doesn’t let many people see it. She doesn’t have anything going on in there except songwriting.  Anything that is not aligned with her purpose, is not needed.

To put myself in a frame of mind where I can let my other worries float away for a period of time.. that’s worth more than I realise, to my art, purpose, and sanity.

It’s not just about interruptions. It’s about being in the right frame of mind, and staying there for as long as possible.
